A long-awaited programme of musicals

Paris has become a globally recognised world capital for musicals, but many productions were shut down due to the health situation. Fortunately, the 2021-2022 season promises to be auspicious, offering a truly breath-taking line-up. Read on to discover the musicals that have excited the Hotel Beaugrenelle Saint-Charles team.

 

Noah, his Ark and the Flood

Let's start with a French creation by Essaï Altounian. Inspired by the mythical story of the flood and Noah's Ark, Noé, la Force de Vivre (Noah, the Strength to Live) tells the epic tale of the man who saved mankind and the world’s animals from divine wrath. The research on animal movement conducted for this production, as well as the choreography and music all promises an exceptional theatrical experience. The show will also benefit from the originality of the setting. It takes place under the marquee of the Hippodrome de Longchamp racecourse. This dazzling immersive spectacle begins at 19:00.

 

Two classics from the 2000s

This Parisian theatre season also presents an opportunity to see two very famous productions that come to us from Broadway: The Lion King and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The first is featured at the Théâtre Mogador, a venue well accustomed to hosting successful musicals. It contains all the ingredients that you would expect of an adaptation of the much-loved movie, including sumptuous costumes, songs recognisable from the first note, and an enchanting atmosphere. The Théâtre du Gymnase hosts the second production. For the occasion, the entire venue will be transformed into a giant chocolate factory for a larger-than-life immersion in Roald Dahl's fun-packed novel.
